SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Drivers heading west on State Route 52 (SR-52) should plan ahead for a full closure of the highway from Friday, April 11 at 9 p.m. through Monday, April 14 at 5 a.m. as Caltrans contractors conduct roadwork . The closure will impact all lanes of westbound SR-52 between State Route 163 (SR-163) and Interstate 805 (I-805). As explained in a recent Caltrans press release, motorists traveling westbound will be diverted through a series of alternative routes. They will have the option to take the connector to southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) to westbound Interstate 8 (I-8), then to northbound I-805 and then re-enter SR-52 via the connectors. Those continuing west past I-15 will be directed onto southbound SR-163. Residents and business owners in the surrounding area should be prepared for potential construction noise and lighting during the overnight work hours, Caltrans officials warned.
