Springfield lottery winner plans to use winnings for home repairs

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield woman is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s "$2,000,000 Diamond Cashword" instant ticket game.
The lottery announced on April Fools' Day that Tawanda Brown cashed in her ticket and claimed a one-time payment of $650,00
0 (before taxes). She said she plans on buying a new washer and dryer and making some home repairs.
Springfield custodian says $1 million lottery ticket changed his life
Tawanda bought her ticket at Pride on Wilbrham Road in Springfield, and the store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale. The "$2,000,000 Diamond Cashword" is a $10 ticket that has four remaining tickets worth a $2 million prize and eight $1 million tickets.
