HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) - A Liberty County Superior Court has found Davonta Johnson in the 2021 murder of Rosemary Michael. On January 20, 2021, officers were called to a convenience store located on the corner of Memorial Drive and Gause Street around 6 p.m. for a report of a carjacking. When pol ice arrived, they found Michael on the ground on the driver’s side of her vehicle unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Man arrested after allegedly stalking, killing Hinesville woman Video footage of the shooting showed Michael being approached from the front of her vehicle by a suspect wearing dark clothing. The suspect took out a gun and fired at Michael, striking her before fleeing across the street to the Liberty Prayer Church. The individual in dark clothing was later identified as Davonta Johnson.
