CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WGHP) — The Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament will be leaving the City of Greensboro in 2026. The ACC announced on Thursday that the 2026 women's tournament will be held in the Greater Atlanta area at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. Florida State University, Clemson University expected to settle lawsuit with ACC: ESPN The league says the decision to play the 2026 tournament in the Atlanta area was made after "an extensive bid process and subsequent evaluation by the league's coaches and administrators." The women's tournament had been held in Greensboro for 25 of the past 26 years with the only exception being 2017. It has been held in North Carolina every year of its existence except for 1992-1996 and 2017, which were in South Carolina. In 2027, the women's tournament will once again return to North Carolina — but not Greensboro. Instead, the tournament will take place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
