While the news was heartbreaking for the band, which has performed together for more than a decade, Roth has already begun chemotherapy and remains determined to push forward.
"If there's one thing that we all know about Dennis, it's that he is one strong MF’er," the band wrote. "He remains in terrific shape (you've all seen him do the David Lee Roth splits) and will be making some changes in his daily routine to put himself in the best position to emerge victorious."
The band confirmed that its summer tour schedule will continue as planned, per Roth’s wishes. He intends to be on stage as much as his health allows.
"We will be here to support him every step of the way and know that you all will be too," the band added. "Going forward, you might hear someone else singing one of his trademark songs, but rest assured that Dennis will be with us as much as his body allows him to be. Music is the best therapy available."
