Pueblo asking for public input on Arkansas River plan

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The City of Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Pueblo Conservancy District, are asking for public input on a plan to include enhancements of the Arkansas River Corridor from Pueblo Lake Dam to Runyon Lake.

an has 12 primary goals for the development of the master plan, including enhancing the corridor for recreational use, improving water quality and wildlife habitat in the corridor, improving trail access and circulation for pedestrian and bicycle use, and identifying gaps in the trail system.
There is a questionnaire online for groups who use the Arkansas River Corridor, from citizens to special interest groups like outdoor enthusiasts and preservationists.
“Public feedback and suggestions are important to us, and we are inviting the public to suggest ideas regarding the development of the Pueblo City Park and Arkansas River Corridor Plan through a survey,” said Director of Pueblo Parks and Recreation Steven Meier. “We have information on our website to help keep the community updated about the plan and to continue to receive feedback.”
The City of Pueblo and Pueblo Conservancy District will host community open houses as the project progresses. The Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department plans to have design alternatives in May for the public to give feedback on. ...read more read less
