CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning attempted burglary in a West Ashley neighborhood. Officials say the suspect broke into a home in the Grand Oaks subdivision, and the residents held the suspect at bay with a firearm until police arrived and took the pers on into custody. The stranger attempted to enter through the back door, but the homeowners secured the door while the suspect banged on it and demanded entry, according to the Charleston Police Department. Police said the suspect was hospitalized, but they did not elaborate. 33-year-old Solomon Yakobashvili of Charleston is charged with second-degree burglary in connection to the incident.
