TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Zelle has officially phased out a key feature its standalone app once offered. The company announced late last year that it would be removing the ability to enroll and transact within its app. The change went into effect Tuesday, April 1. If you used Zelle's app to send or receive money, you'll now have to use your financial institution’s mobile app or go through online banking. The company said the change will not impact the vast majority of customers because many already use Zelle through their financial institutions. If you used Zelle's standalone app, you'll need to re-enroll through the mobile banking app of one of the more than 2,200 banks and credit unions that offer Zelle.
