Baton Rouge health fair promotes community wellness and health

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- The National Coalition for 100 Black Women has partnered with the Southern University Agriculture Center for the Bee Healthy 100 Community Health Fair.
It will be held on Saturday, April 5, at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on Southern's campus from 11 a.m.
to 3 p.m.
Baton Rouge health fair offers screenings for diabetes and cancer
Organizers said there will be something for people of all ages to enjoy. There will be panel discussions on mental health and maternal health, as well as jigg-aerobics, a dance-based fitness program combining the energetic Louisiana dance style of "jigging" with exercises.
The health fair will kick off the groups' efforts to promote health and wellness in the capital area with another April 14 event featuring celebrity judge Glenda Hatchett as the keynote speaker. ...read more read less
