From Pawtucket to EP: DaSilva to cut ribbon on McCoy seats installed at high school

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — While demolition continues at McCoy Stadium, with the outfield wall now gone, East Providence is celebrating the Ocean State’s baseball history.
Thursday, East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva, his Pawtucket counterpart, Donald Grebien, Secretary of State Gregg Amor
e and other local leaders will
cut the ribbon on a row of seats from McCoy Stadium at East Providence High School ahead of the first pitch of the East Providence High School Townies season.
McCoy is being torn down to make way for a new unified high school.
According to a Pawtucket spokesperson, the demo work will be done by June, and work on the new school will begin in the summer.
