CHARLOTTE, NC — If you scroll through TikTok or Instagram you’ll find dozens of videos promoting businesses in Charlotte and behind those videos are content creators.
“This is a thriving industry for them,” Noda Art House program director Matthew Wallace said.
Content creation is bo
oming and the Noda Art House will soon be home to a program that will equip aspiring content creators with hands-on training, mentorship and the business skills to launch their career.
“Really get you ready for either entrepreneurship or getting that landing, that job,” Wallace said.
The eight week full time creator program is the first of its kind in Charlotte and aims to help local creatives turn their passion into a sustainable career.
“Corporations will come in and sponsor and then also help us teach these classes so that they can make these earlier content creators understand what these people are looking for when they’re ready to hire a videographer or photographer or branding expert,” Wallace said.
Organizers of the program said Charlotte is home to many content creation jobs and opportunities to work with local businesses.
“Businesses are looking for content creators, businesses are looking for content to put out, whether that’s on social media or for their advertising or whatever. and it opens up a lot of different seats,” Noda Art House Co – founder Juan de la Torre said.
With those opportunities some content creators remain hopeful in spite of TikTok’s uncertainty as the deadline approaches for the app’s potential ban.
“What I do know is that the content isn’t going anywhere. So regardless of if the platforms are changing, we’re still human beings and we consume content every day. I think that’s become a part of our lives and that’s not going to change,” De la Torre said.
