(KRON) -- One person was injured from a fire that broke out at the Martinez refinery on Wednesday evening, according to Contra Costa Health officials.
Contra Costa Health's hazmat team responded to a report of a fire at around 7:50 p.m. According to the Martinez Refinery Company (MRC), the fire br
oke out when a contract worker was refueling a portable air compressor. The worker was later taken offsite for medical evaluation and treatment. MRC did not say what the extent of the worker's injuries were.
As of 9:30 p.m., the fire from the portable air compressor has been extinguished. MRC said it issued "a Community Warning System Level 1 alert and notified appropriate agencies."
County health officials did not say how big the fire was or if any structures were damaged. No other information about the fire was immediately available.

Contra Costa Health has requested the Martinez Refinery Company to submit a 72-hour report regarding the incident. The fire remains under investigation, the refinery said.
