Driver escapes unharmed in singlecar crash in Warwick

WARWICK, Mass. (WWLP) - A driver walked away with minimal injuries following a single-car crash on Athol Road Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Warwick Fire Department, Engine 2 was called to Athol Road Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle veered off course.
Emergency crews arrived to find
the car heavily damaged but the driver was conscious and alert. Officials say the vehicle's safety features played a critical role in preventing serious harm, including functioning airbags and the driver's use of a seat belt.

The driver, whose identity has not been released, was cited for a marked lanes violation and for texting while driving. No other vehicles were involved, and the crash did not result in any road closures.
