Albuquerque police investigate fatal shooting at Walmart near Coors and I40

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department said one person is dead following a shooting at Walmart near Coors Blvd. and I-40. According to APD, officers responded to the area around 6:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting and a fight that was happening.

APD Spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said the shooting started as a road rage incident between individuals in a truck and a Charger. They pulled into the Walmart parking lot and began to argue. A third vehicle showed up, APD said guns were pulled, and then a fourth vehicle also showed up at the scene.
That's when the fight broke out and shots were fired. A male driving the Charger drove into three other males and pinned them against a truck. One of the males who was pinned shot the driver of the Charger. The driver got out and ran, and then collapsed. He later died.
