NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — It is about to get messy at the Louisiana Children's Museum in City Park on Saturday for their 4th annual, "Mud Fest."
Every day at the Louisiana Children's Museum, they aim to open up children's minds while having fun.
"Children should learn about enjoying nature and pr
otecting the environment," Tifferney White, CEO of Children's Museum said.

That's why they are offering a one-of-a-kind messy, yet educational experience with "Mud Fest."
"Mud Fest is a celebration of our environment. We have four loads of dirt that is brought in and a load of sand. We do a little bit of mixture of the two. Anytime you have water and land that comes together, then that creates mud," White said.
"Mud Fest" will feature a mud-education station, a Mudder Run, two stages of music, food booths and so much more families to enjoy.

"I know for those parents out there who are like me, you are thinking, how am I going to get these kids home with all this mud? We have a kid washing station, just bring a change of clothes, we got you covered. We all love playing in the mud, right?" White said.
"Mud Fest" is this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are timed-entries. For museum members, tickets are $14, and for non-museum members, tickets are $24.
