LINCOLN CO., N.C. – Duke Energy is moving a massive transformer from Charlotte to the Cowans Ford Hydro Station on Lake Norman. The move started Wednesday at 9PM in Charlotte and is expected to reach Cowans Ford in the early morning hours of Thursday. The move will impact early morning traffi c in Lincoln County on NC Highway 16 and then NC Highway 73. It is expected to reach its destination on Eastlake Lane at 5AM.
