Tonight, we're in for some light showers for eastern Colorado as a weather system moves in. The eastern plains and higher terrain might see some rain, but it won't amount to much (Denver should remain dry). Winds will die down,
and we might even get some fog on the far eastern plains as moisture rolls in. For the most part, though, tonight should stay dry until the main weather system arrives tomorrow.Thursday brings in a little more action with a wave of rain moving across the area. The mountains and foothills could see anywhere from 3-7 inches of snow, while the plains will mostly get rain mixed with a little snow. Travel wont be too bad, thoughon the plains, the roads will just be wet, and its mostly slushy up in the foothills, especially on Monument Hill. So, while its going to be a bit messy, it shouldnt cause major problems for drivers. For the Rockies home opener on Friday, more rain and snow showers are expected. This system shouldn't be a big one, though, with mostly light accumulations in the foothills and a few other spots. The plains wont see much snow, and the rain will likely be scattered. If you are heading to the Rockies game, it has the potential to be cold and wet, so do forget to bundle up! Afternoon highs on Friday and Saturday in Denver will be near 40 degrees, so itll feel like an early spring cold snap. However, nothing is set in stone- if the storm changes track- we may see more accumulating snow. Stay tuned! By Sunday, the weather starts to warm up. Well see highs in the 50s across the plains as a high-pressure system moves in. It wont be totally sunny, but there should be some breaks in the clouds, making for a much nicer day. This warmer trend will continue into next week, with temperatures climbing and feeling a lot more like spring by mid-week.Looking ahead, Mondays weather should be pretty close to normal, and itll warm up even more as the week goes on. There might be a quick cool-down on Tuesday with a little rain or snow in the mountains and plains, but it wont be anything major. By Wednesday, a stronger ridge will settle in, bringing well-above-average temperatures to the area. So, after a few cooler days, were looking at a nice warm-up for the second half of the week!DENVER WEATHER LINKS: Hourly forecast | Radars | Traffic | Weather Page | 24/7 Weather Stream Click here to watch the Denver7 live weather stream. ...read more read less
