The program consists of around 4,000 mobile hotspots that can be checked out from libraries for up to three months at a time.
From the start of April and until the end of June, the hotspots will not be available. During that time, they will be upgraded or replaced, according to the library staff.
The program will resume on July 1. Library card holders in good standing will be able to check out hotspots once again after that date.
The library is reminding residents who may need internet service that free public wifi is available at all libraries, as well as over 300 locations across San Diego, including recreation centers. ...read more read less
