Driver saved from Turners Falls ravine, taken to hospital

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. (WWLP) -Turners Falls crews successfully recovered a vehicle and its driver from a ravine on Wednesday.

The Turners Falls Fire Department said that crews received a report of the vehicle Wednesday after
noon, when officers arrived, they found the driver trapped in the car approximately 25 feet down into the ravine.

The driver was assessed and freed from the vehicle, and crews used ropes and a haul system to lift them out of the ravine and back up onto the roadside. The driver was brought to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Turners Falls Fire said that Rau's Towing removed the vehicle from the ravine. The Greenfield Fire Department covered the Turners Falls firehouse while crews were assisting with the incident.
