SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Local residents in need of dental care will have the opportunity to get free limited services at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). STCC's Dental Sciences Department's 7th annual Community Dental Day will be held on May 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Bu ilding 20. Services include patient education, health screenings, diagnosis, X-rays, and limited treatments such as fillings, extractions, sealants, and assessments of urgent issues. These Massachusetts schools awarded grants for locally grown food While cleanings will not be provided during the event, patients needing one may schedule a low-cost follow-up visit at STCC’s dental clinic. Dental care services will be provided by licensed dentists from the Valley District Dental Society, along with STCC dental hygiene and assisting students. “Community Dental Day is a vital initiative that allows us to serve those in need while giving our students valuable hands-on experience,” said Christopher Scott, Dean of the School of Health and Patient Simulation at STCC. “We encourage anyone in the community who requires dental care to take advantage of this free service. By partnering with local professionals, we are ensuring that individuals receive quality dental care while also preparing our students for successful careers in the field.” The event is open to the public on a first-come-first-served basis, and no insurance is required.
