KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After nearly three months, the North Kansas City Police Department has wrapped its investigation into the death of a 63-year-old woman who was found on a hospital campus back in January. According to NKCPD, Loria Fells was found dead on the morning of Monday, Jan. 6, outside o f North Kansas City Hospital. Previous reporting said that Fells had arrived at the hospital via ambulance the day before, Jan. 5, just before 12:30 p.m., but she was discharged that same day just after 1 p.m. Olathe home damaged in fire during storm; 2 residents displaced However, at about 9:45 a.m. the next morning, she was found dead, prompting questions and concerns from the public about her death and how she was allowed to leave. On Wednesday afternoon, NKCPD officially announced that no foul play is suspected in Fells' death. Upon further investigation, the Forensic Medical Center of Kansas determined that she had died from complications related to coronary artery disease.
