Man charged with murder in deadly stabbing after returning to scene

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man has been charged in connection with a deadly stabbing that happened earlier this week, Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced Wednesday.
Leon Reese is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and tampering with a witness.

On Monday, March 31, KCPD and KCFD to the area of 30th Street and Mersington Avenue, where they found a victim who had been stabbed multiple times in the stomach and abdomen. That person was pronounced dead.
According to KCPD, witnesses revealed that Reese and the victim got into an argument, which then escalated into a stabbing—and murder.
Then on Tuesday, April 1, detectives were looking for surveillance footage when they found Reese standing over a witness with a knife, KCPD said. Reese allegedly threw the knife toward detectives when they told him to drop it, and he was taken into custody. ...read more read less
