HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational winner Landon McNamara was honored Wednesday by the Hawaii House of Representatives during a floor presentation at the state Capitol.

"When someone from the North Shore wins the Eddie, it gives our entire community that incredible burst of pride, that feeling of hope and optimism to keep the championship belt on the North Shore. One of our homegrown talents. We are all just so, so proud of his accomplishments," said Rep. Sean Quinlan (D-Haleiwa, Waimea, Kahuku).
