Driver accused of intentionally causing fatal motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Fond du Lac have provided an update on a fatal crash involving a motorcycle, saying the driver of the vehicle intentionally swerved into the motorcyclist’s path.
According to police, officers and detectives have been working tirelessly to assess evide
nce and conduct interviews. Based on evidence collected at the scene, witness statements, and the ongoing investigation, authorities believe the driver deliberately caused the crash.

The 26-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Elijah N. Sowin, died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.
“This was not an accident, but a deliberate and dangerous act that led directly to the death of a young man from our greater Fond du Lac community,” said Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein. “Reckless driving, especially actions intended to harm or endanger others, will not be tolerated.”
Following the investigation, 67-year-old Mark Snider was arrested and is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail. He faces charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon (vehicle) and second-degree reckless homicide.
