Storms Wednesday morning produce heavy rains and hail As of 5 PM, Fort Wayne has pick ed up 1.05 inches of rain on Wednesday. This breaks the daily record rainfall amount on the books for April 2nd, as the previous daily record was 0.83 inches set back in 1983. Fort Wayne saw a daily record rainfall for April 2nd on Wednesday. The last time Fort Wayne saw an inch or more of precipitation was back on May 7th, 2024. This stretch between one inch rains ranks second in the history of Fort Wayne, with weather records dating back to 1897. For the first time in 330 days, we have seen a daily rainfall of an inch or more! Our second longest gap between one inch or more of daily precipitation ends Wednesday in Fort Wayne. Unfortunately, plenty more rain is on the way in the coming days. A FLOOD WATCH has been issued through Sunday morning, as some areas will pick up an additional three to four inches of rain.
