Allegiant putting nonstop flights from Bismarck to Florida on "hiatus"
Apr 02, 2025
BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Allegiant Air says it is putting on hiatus its non-stop flights from Bismarck to the St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport in Florida, after April 26.
Up through that date, flights can still be booked, an Allegiant Air spokesman noted.
The spokesman says lower-th
an-expected passenger numbers are the main reason for the halt to flights.
"Currently, demand from North Dakota to Florida is lower than expected," said Allegiant Media Relations representative Hector Mejia. "We will continue to serve the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and the Las Vegas Airport from Bismarck and hope to bring back Florida service in the future."
On May 15, 2024, Allegiant Air launched non-stop service from Bismarck Airport to the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport.
"Allegiant's business model, based on seasonality and demand, is designed to be flexible so we can respond to market conditions," explained Mejia. "This approach helps us keep our costs low and is one way we are able to pass our savings on to our customers."
Allegiant has been providing service to and from Bismarck since 2004.
