BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Superintendent of Schools held a grand opening Wednesday morning for a new education center.
Students now have access to the "STEAM Yard," a place that is designed to focus on students learning. The facility is a first-of-its-kind educational center,
according to organizers, and the curriculum centered around math, science, engineering and art will give kids great opportunities.

Opportunities include standards-based field trip opportunities, after-school camps, a curriculum and materials lending library and an integrated college and career pathways component, according to organizers.
