"Two days later, they surrendered Sally back to Austin Pets Alive! (APA!), hopeful that we could save this sweet kitty’s life," the nonprofit said.
According to APA!, Sally has FIP, feline infectious peritonitis, which the nonprofit described as a once-fatal disease it has "pioneered treatment for, giving cats like Sally a fighting chance." The nonprofit said its approach to FIP treatment "has led to an over 80% survival rate."
"Sally is already improving, regaining her strength, and even taking her first steps again," the nonprofit said. "With your help, we can continue to save — and transform — the lives of pets like Sally, who have nowhere else to turn for the complex care and unyielding hope they need to recover."
Now that Sally is improving, she is available for adoption again and is looking for a loving home with the patience to give her the care she needs, the nonprofit said.
