WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A man was arrested and charged on Tuesday for repeatedly threatening to kill a federal official and an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia (USADC) announced. According to a two-count federal ind ictment, 68-year-old Robert Andrew Cooper made threatening phone calls in late December 2024. "The communication contained a threat to kidnap or injure [the officials], specifically wanting [them] dead," court documents stated.
