USAO: Man arrested for threatening to kill federal official, DC police officer

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A man was arrested and charged on Tuesday for repeatedly threatening to kill a federal official and an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia (USADC) announced.
According to a two-count federal ind
ictment, 68-year-old Robert Andrew Cooper made threatening phone calls in late December 2024.

During those calls, he allegedly said he intended to kill the federal official and MPD officer.
"The communication contained a threat to kidnap or injure [the officials], specifically wanting [them] dead," court documents stated.
Cooper was charged with two counts of Interstate Communications with a Threat to Kidnap or Injure. ...read more read less
