Oklahoma detention officer arrested on assault charges

ALTUS, Okla. (KFOR) - According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, a Jackson County detention officer has been arrested on assault and battery charges.
Officials say the Jackson County Sheriff's Office requested the OSBI's help on January 14, 2025, regarding an alleged assault that ha
ppened inside the Jackson County Jail.

According to the OSBI, the incident happened on January 4, 2025, between detention officer 37-year-old Jarmal Dorsey and an inmate. Investigators learned that the inmate was injured during an altercation and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Based on the investigation, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Dorsey on April 1. Later that day, Dorsey was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on charged of Aggravated Assault and Battery.
