MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis seafood restaurant, The Half Shell, will host a grand opening for its new location in Germantown on Thursday evening, complete with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. at The Half Shell's new home -- 9091 Poplar Avenue at Forest Hill-Irene. The Memphis seafood restaurant has been known for more than 50 years as one of the local go-tos for fresh Gulf seafood. The restaurant's new location will seat up to 165 guests and provide a private event space for up to 65 people. “The Half Shell is a place people return to again and again—not just for the food, but for the feeling,” said John May, Chief Operating Officer of Forest Hill Partners, LLC. “We wanted the Germantown location to embody that same spirit while also setting the tone for the next 50 years.” The menu highlights fresh seafood, po’boys, gumbo, and Cajun-influenced entrées, served in a relaxed atmosphere, according to the company.
