Indianapolis Department of Business and Neighborhood Services launches road closure viewer

INDIANAPOLIS -- Officials with the Indianapolis Department of Business and Neighborhood Services (DBNS) launched a new interactive road closure viewer, giving residents the chance to view current and upcoming road closures within the city.
According to a news release from the department, the new
website gives Hoosiers access to "critical information about various road projects, right-of-way permits and special events," combining data from the DBNS and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works.

Officials said users are able to search addresses in Marion County to see how neighborhoods, workplaces and/or daily routes could be impacted by closures. Features of the new viewer include:
Daily updates
Custom notifications
Multiple data sets
Detailed project information
“This new tool marks a significant step forward in the City’s commitment to make government service and information easier to access for the citizens we serve,” Abbey Brands, the director of DBNS, said in the release. “This user-friendly format empowers citizens to stay informed and engaged in the work and events impacting their communities.”
