UPDATE: Minor injuries reported after crash involving a school bus in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – Police are investigating a Wednesday morning crash involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus and a landscaping truck.
The crash happened on Park Road between Smithfield Church Road and Sharon Road West in south Charlotte.
It appears the landscaping truck hit CMS Bus 118 bringi
ng children to Quail Hollow Middle School.
The principal sent a message to parents saying there were 19 students on the bus and that Medic took two of them to the hospital as a precaution.
Another bus picked up the rest of the children and took them to school.
Message sent to families by principal Spaulding:
“Good Morning Quail Hollow families, this is Principal Spaulding reaching out to inform you that this morning, bus number 118 was involved in an accident where another vehicle hit the back driver’s side of the bus.
There were 19 students on the bus and 2 students were transported to the hospital as a precaution. Those parents have been notified. Another school bus arrived on scene to transport any uninjured students to school.
As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your continued support of Quail Hollow.”
