BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed on Union Avenue in February. Bakersfield Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at about 10:51 p.m. on Feb. 25 in the 900 block of Union Avenue, near East 9th St., according to BPD. 3 Bakersfield mothers come together to start pedestrian safety petition Jesus Francisco Borja, 36, was found suffering from major injuries, BPD said. Emergency medical aid personnel pronounced Borja deceased at the scene. Officials said Borja was walking east across Union Avenue when he was hit by a Honda traveling northbound. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. BPD investigators said speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash.
