Man accused of killing three workers on I91 in West Springfield due in court

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The man accused of crashing into a worksite on I-91 north in West Springfield and killing three workers is expected to be back in court on Wednesday.

ty District Attorney's Office stated that three workers repairing damaged guardrails on I-91 North when, at approximately 12:45 a.m., a 2021 Jeep Cherokee took Exit 10A at a high rate of speed and struck and killed three men. The Jeep came to a rest on its roof in the middle of the ramp.
The driver ran away from the crash, and it was determined that the vehicle was registered to 29-year-old Bilal Griffith of West Springfield. A multi-agency search was conducted and an Air Wing helicopter found Griffith on Morgan Road after a chase that continued for over half a mile.
The victims were identified as 26-year-old Igor Costa of Marlborough, 48-year-old Ryan Almeida of Brockton, and 57-year-old Raul Bohorquez of Brockton.
The men worked for a company called Premier Fence.
Griffith was arraigned in Springfield District Court on Friday for three counts of manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of personal injury or death. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf, and his bail was set at $1 million. He is expected in Springfield District Court on Wednesday for a status hearing.
