ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – With a long history in the film industry and boosts from initiatives like the Film Production Tax Credit, many productions have called New Mexico home, perhaps most notably the AMC drama "Breaking Bad." After the smashing success of "Breaking Bad," showrunner Vince Gi
lligan decided to return to the Land of Enchantment for his follow-up show, "Better Call Saul." While many locations from "Breaking Bad" were reused, the many different story elements of "Better Call Saul" meant several new locations were needed. Here are some of the most iconic filming locations from the show around Albuquerque.
This post may contain spoilers for "Better Call Saul" and "Breaking Bad."
Where in Albuquerque was Breaking Bad filmed? A do-it-yourself tour
Chuck McGill’s House
🔶 1607 San Cristobal Road Southwest*
(Chuck McGill's house, "Better Call Saul" filming locations)
Jimmy McGill's (Bob Odenkirk) brother, Chuck McGill (Michael McKean), lives a secluded lifestyle in his home, which he has stripped of all electricity. While the house burns down in the season 3 finale, the real-life house still stands. Chuck's house is only a block away from Jesse Pinkman's (Aaron Paul) house, just east of the Albuquerque Country Club.

Cottonwood Mall
🔶 10000 Coors Bypass Northwest
(Cottonwood Mall)
The opening moments of the series show Jimmy's life post-"Breaking Bad." As he accurately predicted in season 5, he manages a Cinnabon in Omaha, Nebraska, as the black-and-white Gene Takavic. This same Cinnabon is shown at the start of five out of six seasons of "Better Call Saul," cementing the location as an iconic set piece. While the original Cinnabon location at Cottonwood Mall is now closed, the mall still has plenty to offer.
Courthouse Toll Booth

The cramped toll booth where Jimmy and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) first meet isn't actually in the parking lot of a courthouse. Instead, Mike's old stomping grounds can be found on the northern end of the Albuquerque Convention Center. The toll booth is no longer controlled by an operator but by a keypad instead.
Dog House
🔶 1216 Central Avenue Northwest

The neon dachshund lights up the iconic yellow sign atop the Dog House after sunset, making the restaurant hard to miss on the historic Route 66. This eatery was a favorite of Jesse Pinkman's in "Breaking Bad," and it makes a reappearance in "Better Call Saul" when Jimmy and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) enjoy a meal while discussing the end of Kim's career at Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill. The Dog House remains a popular spot for both visiting fans of the show and locals.
El Moreno Restaurante y Paleteria
🔶 2511 Isleta Blvd Southwest
(El Michoacáno (El Moreno Restaurante y Paleteria), "Better Call Saul" filming locations)
Known in the series as El Michoacáno, this restaurant is where the Salamancas run their family business and where Nacho Varga (Michael Mando) eventually takes over Tuco's (Raymond Cruz) side of things. It's also the location of a bold setup that Nacho and Mike plan to send Tuco to prison in season 2. The restaurant is still operational today.
Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill
🔶 Pan American Building, Sun Avenue Northeast
(Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill, "Better Call Saul" filming location)
Thanks to towering multi-level windows, this location made the perfect lighting for interior shots of the law firm Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill. The fictional firm, founded by Chuck and Howard Hamlin's (Patrick Fabian) father, is where Kim and Jimmy both began their careers in law. It served as an antagonist to Jimmy for much of the series and later to Kim as she pursued her solo practice. The real-life building is host to several businesses.
Los Altos Skate Park
🔶 10140 Lomas Blvd Northeast
Los Altos Skate Park
Los Altos Skate Park
This park was featured only once in the first episode of the series when Jimmy finds brothers Cal (Daniel Spenser Levine) and Lars (Steven Levine) after they attempt to scam him out of $500. Jimmy then enlists their help to run a scheme on the Kettlemans, which doesn't exactly go according to plan. At 35,000 square feet of skateable area, the Los Altos Skate Park is still a popular place for skateboards, BMX bikes, and in-line skates.
Loyola’s Family Restaurant
🔶 4500 Central Ave Southeast
Loyola's Family Restaurant
Loyola's Family Restaurant
Popping up in seasons 4 and 5 of "Breaking Bad" as Mike's go-to eatery, Loyola's Family Restaurant makes many reappearances in "Better Call Saul." Jimmy meets up with the Kettlemans in season 1, Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) makes Mike an offer in season 2, and Jimmy asks Mike to steal a valuable Hummel figurine in season 4. Loyola's is known for its chile, posole, and breakfast burritos.
Mike Ehrmantraut’s House
🔶 204 Edith Boulevard Northeast*
(Mike's House, "Better Call Saul" filming location)
Whether babysitting his granddaughter or setting traps for the cartel, Mike's humble abode serves as a cover for his illicit finances. Hector Salamanca sends enforcers to Mike's house following Tuco's arrest in season 2, but Mike defends himself after taking immense precautions. Hank Schraeder (Dean Norris) and his DEA team search the house in "Breaking Bad" for any evidence of Mike's involvement in Gus Fring's (Giancarlo Esposito) drug empire.
