PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A warm front across the Deep South will slowly make its way toward North Carolina today, bringing clouds, spotty patches of light rain, and periods of fog.  Still, despite the higher humidity, high temperatures are going to be near-normal, in the upper-60s this after noon. The chance of rain is only 20%, and measurable rain will be very low, a few hundredths of an inch. The warm front will sweep across the Piedmont overnight from south to north.  With it, fog and isolated showers are possible, with lows in the mid-60s. Temperatures will warm up dramatically as we get to the end of the work week. Tomorrow, highs will climb into the lower-80s. We will have cloudier skies initially, then the clouds will begin to break apart by tomorrow afternoon. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday and Saturday, with highs around 87°. The record high for Friday is 86° (set in 1934), and for Saturday is 87° (set in 1942), so we may have new records in the almanac books. A cold front is going to bring a lot of change to our weather across the state early next week.  Sunday is still going to be unseasonably mild, with highs in the mid-80s. There is a 60% chance of showers during the day, then rain chances increase to 90% on Sunday night.  Some lingering showers (40%) are in the forecast for Monday morning, but the cold front will be east of the Triad by daybreak.  It will stay mostly cloudy on Monday, with highs in the upper-60s.
