ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Public Schools district is raising the price of summer school. It's all due to the end of a federal COVID-19-era program called the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.

Since 2021, summer school has been free for all current APS high schoolers. Students who are not a part of the district had to pay $250 per half-credit. This summer, every student will have to pay that $250 fee per half-credit unless they are receiving federal assistance. In that case, they would have to pay just over $62 per half credit.
