USAO says Rhode Island woman sentenced for role in controlled substance conspiracy

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts said a Rhode Island Woman was sentenced for her role in a controlled substance conspiracy.
31-year-old Denise Guyette was sentenced to 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release af
ter she pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute 400 grams of more of fentanyl and 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine.
According to USAO, Guyette worked with Gerardo Garza, Nathan Boddie, and others to traffic methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and other controlled substances in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and other locations.
The conspirators hid the drugs in packages that contained children’s toys, Halloween decorations, and Disney items, which were shipped through the mail.
From May 2020 to October 2022, detectives seized over 900 grams of methamphetamine, thousands of counterfeit fentanyl pills, and suspected Dimethyltryptamine, according to USAO.
On Feb. 8, 2023, investigators searched Guyette’s residence and seized about 6.5 kilograms of pure methamphetamine and over 2,700 counterfeit fentanyl pills wight over 300 grams in a safe in the defendant’s bedroom, according to USAO. Police also discovered a digital scale, multiple Rhode Island and Massachusetts driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, and credit cards in other people’s names. Police took Guyette into custody.
Guyette was indicted with her co-conspirators in February 2023 and pled guilty in September 2024.
Boddie was sentenced to 84 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
Garza pled guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
