LIHUE, Hawaii (KHON2) -- Kauaʻi Police Department detained two minors last week in connection to a stolen vehicle, and KPD suspects the duo is involved in other recent crimes across the Garden Isle. On the morning of March 27, KPD officers were dispatched after receiving word of a stolen vehicle in Līhuʻe. Upon investigation, authorities located the vehicle with the two minors inside. Both juveniles attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly caught. Police data shows juvenile arrest rates up, incarceration rates down Further investigation conducted by authorities indicated that both minors could potentially be connected to various burglaries and vehicle thefts.
