(WGHP) -- Mosquito season is here.
From March all the way through the fall, they’re a buzzing nuisance and can also carry diseases.
Forsyth County Vector Control Specialist Ryan Harrison says the time to prepare to prevent mosquitos is now, and there are easy ways to do it.
Check every p
lant, pot and anything that could collect standing water, from the smallest to largest ones, and make sure that water is dumped out.
Even if it’s a cooler or a decorative plate, it can become a breeding ground for mosquitos, and just one can bite you 10 to 15 times.
Check your gutters and consider treating them as well as areas where water collects, like a dip in your yard. Mosquito treating donuts are common and are available online and at feed stores to serve 100 square feet at a time.
Don’t expect to see a lot of trucks spraying because it can hurt the bees.
