LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KTSM) — New Mexico State baseball suffered a 15-10 loss to Rio Grande rival New Mexico at Presley Askew Field on Tuesday.

New Mexico's Jordy Oriach hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Lobos a 3-0 lead.
New Mexico State got a run back in the bottom of the first, but it was in the bottom of the second inning where the Aggies got back into the game. With two on and two outs, Mitch Namie doubled through the right side and Sheehan O'Connor scored to make it a 3-2 game. Very next batter, Bryce Campbell homered to left center. Campbell's three-run shot gave NMSU its first lead of the game. Aggies led 5-3 after two innings of play.
The Lobos went onto outscore the Aggies 12-5 the rest of the game. Lobos put together a pair of four-run innings in the 4th and 6th.
NMSU's Cooper Reese got the loss as he gave up 4 runs in 0.2 innings pitched.
UNM's Matt Cornelius got the win as he gave up no runs and just one hit against nine batters faced in 1.2 innings pitched.
Will Asby had quite the game for the Lobos. Asby went 3-for-5 at the plate, hit a double and home run, and drove in three runs.
NMSU's Bryce Campbell went 2-for-5, hit a double and homer, and drove in four runs in the game.
NMSU is now 0-2 against New Mexico this season. Game three of the season series is on Tuesday, April 15 at Presley Askew Field.
