BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that left two people dead on Tuesday.
BRPD officers were responding to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 12200 block of La Margie Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Police confirmed one
male was dead at the scene.
While on the scene, Louisiana First News' photographer, Brett Landrews, witnessed another shooting while other people and police units were in the area.
"It was a lot going on," said Landrews. "I've been doing this for a long time, and when I arrived at the scene, it was a regular shooting scene. All I heard out of the blue were shots ringing, and that was just out of the ordinary."
Shortly after, shots rang out in the 10200 block of Avenue F around 7:45 p.m., police say.
Officers confirmed one adult male pronounced dead.
Both shootings are ongoing investigations. Anyone with information is asked to contact BRPD at 225-389-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
