SAN DIEGO — A low-pressure system off the coast of Oregon is extensive enough to influence San Diego-area weather through the rest of the week with windy conditions and chances of light rain just before the weekend.
Westerly winds will be the main weather story for Tuesday, as a Wind Advisory
takes place for the entire county through early Wednesday morning.
For the beaches and valleys, sustained winds are expected to range from 10 to 20 mph, with gusts reaching up to 35 mph.
Mountains and deserts will experience the strongest winds of the area with gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
A deepening marine layer will bring chances of patchy drizzle to light rain late tonight and Wednesday morning. Scattered light snow showers are possible for the mountains.
Daytime highs are expected to be in the upper 50s to low 60s for beaches and valleys Wednesday and Thursday, with mid-40s in the mountains and mid-60s in the deserts.
Widespread showers are favored to develop Thursday afternoon, with a slight chance of thunderstorms as the back end of the storm system moves through California. It'll lower snow levels to around 4000 ft. of elevation Wednesday evening.
Behind the low-pressure trough are warmer and drier conditions that will set up for the weekend. ...read more read less
