Mother in fatal Napa DUI crash has bail decreased by $1 million

(KRON) -- A mother who was allegedly driving under the influence in a crash in Napa County last month was booked into jail on March 23. Yesica Barajas, 31, faces multiple felony counts after being behind the wheel during a crash that killed her two children, authorities said.
Her bail was initia
lly set at $1,500,000 when she was officially booked into jail more than a week ago. As of Tuesday, Barajas' bail was decreased to $500,000, according to Napa County jail records.
The crash resulted in the death of Barajas' daughter Aaliyah Montanez, 9, and her 10-year-old brother, Damien Montanez.

Barajas was booked into jail on March 23 after spending several days in the hospital from the crash that happened one week earlier. She made her first court appearance on Monday, March 24.
The alleged DUI crash happened early morning on March 16 on Highway 29, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Barajas' next appearance in Napa County court will be on Friday, April 4 at 1:30 p.m. The mother is slated to enter a plea at the arraignment. ...read more read less
