WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Kansas Gas Service is giving away free trees to Kansans who pledge to call 811 before any digging.
If you're planning to plant a garden, install a fence, or start a new project, contacting 811 before you dig is not only a smart practice — it's also required by law. Acc
ording to a news release from Kansas Gas Service, doing so could even earn you a free tree.
Kansas warns of harmful algae blooms in lakes and reservoirs
Kansas Gas Service, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, is offering the “Dig Hero Tree Giveaway,” where pledge-takers can win a free tree and receive tips on saving energy and reducing utility costs.
