Park City Mountain prepares for closing day April 21

As the ski community gathered for a day of April Fool’s sun and celebration following seven inches of fresh snow at Park City Mountain on Tuesday morning, the end of the ski season barrels closer with closing day celebrations scheduled for April 21. With the Pond Skim end-of-season celebration sl
otted for April 12, Park City Mountain is beginning to wind down its operations in preparation for the season’s final weeks. “Similarly to how we open the mountain, our team gradually ramps down operations as we approach closing day,” said Emily McDonald, Park City Mountain communications manager. “Our team is constantly assessing and monitoring conditions, and carefully plans our closing schedule to ensure we preserve the best experience and the most terrain for our guests. As an example, the terrain accessed from Thaynes lift can still can be accessed by Pioneer, Motherlode, Bonanza and Silverlode lifts. Other lifts are closed as conditions change due to weather.”Lift operations that have already closed for the season include Eagle, Thaynes, Sun Peak Express, Short Cut and Sunrise. Transitions terrain park is now closed, as well as several on-mountain dining locations, including Mid Mountain Lodge, Cloud Dine, Lookout Cabin, and Sun Lodge. The resort is operating 36 lifts with 6,422 acres of terrain as of April 1. “Our team will be providing updates on available lifts and terrain at the start of each week through the end of the season to make sure our guests know what to expect when they come spring skiing and riding,” said McDonald.
