The World Cup moguls season wrapped up a few weeks ago after the World Championships in Engadin, Switzerland, so for some of the world’s best, that meant it was time for their national championships. Over the weekend at Palisades Tahoe, the U.S. held their national championships, where several Par
kites dominated. On the men’s side, Dylan Marcellini swept both moguls and dual moguls titles. Marcellini continues a hot streak that saw him dominate the NorAm tour this spring. Kylie Kariotis and Alli Macuga split the women’s titles, with Kariotis winning solos, and Macuga, duals. Macuga continues her impressive run of form that included a second-place finish on the women’s NorAm tour. Kariotis finished her breakout season ranked 22nd in the world, up from 43rd the year before. The Parkites are now free to take some time off before resuming training with the U.S. team. They will all look to book their place on the Milan Olympic team. The championships were another opportunity to show off their stuff for some of the people helping make the calls on the team. “Winning both days of nationals was an incredible achievement,” said Marcellini. “I have gotten second to one of my good friends and teammates Cole McDonald twice. … I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get my first national title.”Marcellini had family and friends in attendance. He grew up just a few hours south in Walnut Creek, California. Marcellini felt the pressure at home. With all of this winning as-of-late, he feels like a true World Cup contender heading into next season. Marcellini locked in all of his 2025-26 cup starts by winning the NorAm. He’s excited to build toward the Olympic season. Macuga felt a sense of relief after capping off her challenging season with the duals title. She feels having to drop down to NorAm took a hit to her confidence. “I have mixed feelings about it,” said Macuga on the season. “Getting second (on NorAm) was a bit tough for me. I really wanted to push myself to that top spot.”Macuga will use the offseason and refound passion for her skiing to try to climb back to her past standing on the cup circuit. The 21 year old finished this season 18th, down from 6th last year. Macuga’s cup and Olympic starts problem would be laughable on any other national team other than the America’s. Macuga would love to ski the Olympics alongside her sisters next February. She knows she’ll have to keep her passion for the sport up to keep her results up. “Olympics is my biggest goal,” said Macuga. “With this season though, my biggest goal is to always find the joy and fun in the sport. … Expectations can be high, but I need to remember to use that as fuel for competition rather than finding fear in it.”The post Parkites dominate national moguls championships appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
