WEDNESDAY - Through early afternoon we'll be very mild, somewhat muggy, winds will be whipping as high as 50 mph out of the south. Beginning late afternoon, and continuing through the evening, another significant severe threat will unfold across the Mid-South. While large hail, and damaging winds wi ll be the primary threats, it appears that the tornado risk will be higher than we had this past weekend thanks to stronger wind shear in the lower to mid levels of the atmosphere... this will be especially true 3-8pm. REST OF THE WEEK - Wednesday's severe threat will usher in a very active weather pattern, with off and on showers/storms persisting through most of the upcoming weekend. Several inches of rain are likely (perhaps more than 10″ in a few spots) and will lead to flash flooding in areas especially north of I-40 later this week. STAY CONNECTED - We encourage you to have multiple ways to receive weather information - especially as we head into April, which is another busy month for severe weather in the Mid-South.
