MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Police say a woman was attacked by her boyfriend's ex-wife in the parking lot of a Cordova Walmart. The incident happened on March 19 but Catherine Hayslett 45, was booked in the Shelby County Jail Tuesday for aggravated assault. Catherine Hayslett (SCSO) The victim said s he had just exited the Walmart on Germantown Parkway and was loading shopping bags into her vehicle when she saw Hayslett running toward her with a small sharp object in her hand. Man charged with attempted murder allegedly connected to burglaries The victim said Hayslett began swinging at her with the object and struck her multiple times. The victim told police she was able to back away from her attacker and used her left arm to block the swings toward her face. Officers said the victim had two puncture wounds and bruising to her upper left arm. 3 new cases of measles confirmed in Tennessee Investigators said the victim was able to pick Hayslett out of a photo line-up. Court records show Hayslett was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in two separate cases in 2018. Both times the charges were dismissed.
